Privacy Policy
The privacy policy for Mise en, a product of Mise en Comptes, LLC · Last updated July 18, 2026
What we process, and why
Mise en syndicates a merchant's product catalog to shopping channels and attributes resulting sales. To do that we process, on the merchant's behalf:
- Catalog data — products, variants, prices, images, inventory.
- Order data — order totals, line items, and the referral parameters of the page the order came from. Used solely for sale attribution and the merchant's own bookkeeping.
We deliberately do notrequest or store shoppers' names, email addresses, phone numbers, or shipping addresses. Checkout happens on the merchant's own store; the customer relationship and its data belong to the merchant.
Channels we share catalog data with
To syndicate a merchant's listings, Mise en transmits their product catalog data(titles, descriptions, images, prices, availability, and product identifiers) to the shopping channels the merchant chooses to connect:
- Google (Google Shopping, via the Merchant API)
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram catalogs, via the Meta Graph API)
- Pinterest (via the Pinterest Catalogs API)
We share only product catalog data with these channels — never shopper personal data. Each channel processes the data it receives under its own terms and privacy policy: Pinterest, Google, and Meta. We access these platforms only to create and manage the merchant's own catalog listings on their behalf; we do not read other users' content or run advertising campaigns.
What we never do
- We do not sell personal data. There is nothing to opt out of, because it doesn't happen.
- We do not use order data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond attribution and the merchant's bookkeeping.
- We make no automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about shoppers.
Aggregated insights, by consent only
Merchants may separately consent to (a) their catalog data being used in aggregated, anonymized form and (b) contributing order data to a pooled insights program. Both are opt-in choices made at onboarding, changeable any time. Pooled insights are only ever shown at aggregation thresholds that make individual stores unidentifiable.
Security & retention
- Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256); platform credentials carry an additional application-layer encryption whose key never touches the database.
- Financial records are retained per standard accounting requirements (up to seven years); data with no remaining purpose is deleted.
- Merchants can request deletion of their account data at any time: kevin@miseencomptes.com.
